Fruchi Frozen Smoothie Review

February 15, 2013 by Karen

Are you looking for a treat that is healthy, fruity, and fun?  A Fruchi is a frozen fruit smoothie you can simply pull from the freezer and enjoy – no blender required.
Each Fruchi pouch is 8 fl. oz. and is one full serving of fruit.  Fruchis contain 100% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for vitamin C.  Fat and cholesterol are absent from this treat.  Each Fruchi is 130-140 calories.

This product is currently available in the following flavors:
  • Berry Blast – Antioxidants abound and blueberries lead the way in this powerful dark berry blend
  • Strawberry Banana – Strawberries and bananas combined with 100% all natural fruit juice blend
  • Island Splash –  Escape to the Caribbean with this refreshing mix of oranges, peaches, and mangoes with an all-natural fruit juice blend
  • Raspberry Rush – Zing your taste buds with this tangy blend of raspberry juice, strawberries, blackberries, and other power-packed juices

I enjoyed all four of the Fruchi flavors, but my personal favorite is Island Splash.  Fruchis are made from real fruit and fruit juice concentrate.  They are sweetened with corn syrup and sugar.  Fruchi fruit smoothies do contain milk.

To use a Fruchi, keep frozen until served.  Then soften the smoothie by letting the pouch sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes or microwave on high for 20-30 seconds and knead the pouch to your desired consistency.  Fruchi smoothies will last 6-12 months, if not completely thawed.  You can tear off the top of the pouch to consume or pour into your favorite glass.

Fruchi is a Minnesota based company that began in 2006.  It is now owned by the Schwan Food Company.

If you are in Minnesota and located in the Twin Cities, Fruchi is available at your local Cub store.  Soon Cub stores outside of the metro will carry Fruchi too.   Minnesota Hy-Vee stores currently carry this product and it will be available at Hy-Vee stores located in IA, NE, and KS in a few weeks.  In May, Fruchi will be available again on the Schwan’s trucks and available nationwide.

If you are part of an organization or group that is looking for a unique fundraising idea, add Fruchi to your list.  Their fundraising program is available nationwide.  A 4-case minimum order of a single flavor case ($120) is required.  Each case contains 24 frozen Fruchi pouches for $30 ($1.25 each). Fruchis have a suggested sale price of $2-3, which is at your discretion.  A fundraising item that doesn’t require cooking or prepping, sweet!  For more info, please visit https://www.fruchi.com/fruchi-fundraising.htm

Disclosure:  I received samples of Fruchi for this review.  No other compensation was received.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
