There is one small kitchen appliance that I need to utilize more – the slow cooker. I think in Minnesota we often regard to it as a Crock-Pot even though this is a brand name.
I have the first Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook by Phyllis Good with many favorites marked among its pages. Now all new and delicious creations can be had with Fix-It and Forget-It Slow Cooker Magic, which was released this August. This title includes 550 recipes that will bring something hot to the table for breakfast, dinner, and even dessert.
Pictured below is my rendition of Potato Soup. I did not have smoked turkey on hand so I made some dumplings to go in the soup. We have also tried Pork Chops and Apples and Gooey Cookie Dessert. Yum! All have been welcomed positively by my family and are on the serve again list.
Highlights from this title include: Thai veggie curry, slow cooker pizza, black bean burritos, chile rellenos casserole, banana chocolate chip bars, cornbread, and expanded vegan offerings. Ms. Good does not create all of the recipes; rather, recipes are submitted by her legions of fans and tested by a select group of home cooks known as “Team Fix-It”—real women cooking in Chicago, Kansas City, Washington, DC, Indianapolis, Louisville, Brooklyn, and across the country.
Fix-It and Forget-It Slow Cooker Magic is available nationwide and on GoodBooks.com. It starts off at $15.99 and will provide you with many comforting and satisfying meals for busy school nights and more.
I received a copy of this book to review. No other compensation was received. The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
