Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes with T-Tapp Book Review

Title:  Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes

Author:  Teresa Tapp with Barbara Smalley

Paperback, Published by Balantine Books

I think Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes is a great exercise program for almost anyone.  It showcases sequenced movements called T-Tapp™.  You aren’t busy doing circuit training or counting calories with this wellness workout.  In fact, no equipment is needed besides a pair of exercise shoes and four square feet of space.

The author and founder, Teresa Tapp, has been doing nothing but T-Tapp™ to stay in shape over 20 years.  The movements are based on quality, not quantity, and the sequence of these movements is important.  There’s no music to synchronize with and there is no running or jumping involved.

To give you a little background on Teresa, which I think is important to know – Teresa lost her mother to brain cancer when she was only five.  This made her value her own life and made her more keen on listening to her own body.  In high school, Teresa suffered an injury that chipped three vertebrae and was also dealing with scoliosis.  The two together caused her extreme pain.

Teresa listened to her body and pursued a degree in exercise physiology.  After graduating, she began working overseas with the fashion industry and trained models.  After about 10 years of traveling the world in this career, Teresa settled back in the United States and worked as a personal trainer.  She has been an editor for a fitness magazine, and worked to motivate others through different forms of media and in person.

Teresa’s sequenced moves have created success for many that are documented in this book and on the T-Tapp™ website.  I will be honest, the exercises are a bit tricky to master with reading and following from the book.  I still need some more practice and repetition to do them correctly.

There is a bonus DVD included with Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes, but for some reason the DVD player I usually use in our home has started to skip so I need to hanker down and find our cleaning disc soon or purchase a replacement unit to play the included DVD.  Teresa also has several videos on YouTube.

One topic that I found hugely different in Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes from other diet/exercise books and videos I’ve read/viewed is the connection with lymphatics.  Teresa writes in her book of how lymphatics play an important role in our overall well-being, but it is a system unlike that of our cardiac.  It is designed without a pump.

The lymphatic system can get sluggish and we need to help get it flowing optimally, which Teresa’s T-Tapp™ is to greatly improve.  Teresa writes of how lymphatics flowing good form can even help with cellulite.  🙂
