Yesterday, we received a fun package of Halloween treats from Shari’s Berries shortly before we were to tackle pumpkin carving. It was a warm, fall day (by Minnesota standards :-)) and so we were ready to make creations out of the Kakai Pumpkins we had grown. We like the Kakai for its hull-less pumpkin seeds, which are terrific for roasting. You can use the meat of this pumpkin variety too.
I helped my son carve as my husband helped our daughters and he tackled his own friendly, but a little spooky pumpkin face like these cute cookies. My one daughter wanted to try out carving a cat this year.
We later enjoyed the Shari’s Berries cake pops and mini cookies as we waited for it to get dark enough to light the pumpkins. The cake pops came in five flavors: peanut butter cake, red velvet cake, cookies & cream cake, chocolate cake, and vanilla cake. They were all moist and delicious. The crunchy cookies were decorated with cute bats, mummy faces, Frankenstein, pumpkins, and a pretty purple with black sprinkles.
Darkness came and we got to see our creations light up for the night!
Shari’s Berries has goodies for Halloween, birthdays, and more!
