Recently I viewed DREAMBUILDERS, which comes out on DVD and DVD/Blu-ray combo today. This is a nicely animated family-friendly film from Shout! Kids and is directed by Kim Hagen Jensen All Dogs Go To Heaven, FernGully) and Tonni Zinck (The Neon Demon).
Minna and her dad have a happy life together. Her mom walked out on them when she was much younger to pursue her musical career. Minna’s life now is in for quite an adjustment when her dad’s fiancée and her daughter, Jenny, move in with them from the city. Minna seems to feel like Jenny is going to replace her in her relationship with her dad and that Jenny will pretty much sabotage her life. While dreaming, Minna discovers a world behind her dreams shortly before Jenny and her mom move in. Minna comes up with a plan to go into Jenny’s dreams and to tweak them so Jenny then loves her pet and loves her fashion choices. Her plans in the dream world, unfortunately, backfire not long after they are implemented. Minna goes too far and Jenny can’t wake up from this dream world. Minna has to go into the dream world one more time to try and save her.
