With having young children in the household, I do worry about what they might find on television. I was given a Roku to try out the Dove Channel over the last few months, which is geared at having TV and movie programming for the entire family.
The Dove Channel is $4.99 a month and can be viewed at home or on a mobile device. It has over 900 hours of programming. The stories featured are to inspire, reinforce good values, and lift the spirit. All of the programs have been selected by The Dove Foundation to make sure they are family friendly.
My family and I have been viewing the programming on the Dove Channel over the last few months. I like how the ratings for the shows are provided before you start playing them and you can set your preferences with their customization tool based on your family’s values, age of viewer(s), and settings for the content level range for violence, sexuality, drugs, etc.
The Dove Channel has some of the shows I remember as a kid and those that I like my kids to watch, like VeggieTales. New programs are added monthly to the Dove Channel.

Disclosure: I received a one year membership to the Dove Channel and Roku for this review. No other compensation was received for this post.
