Disclosure: I received free products to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are my own.
I am honored for being selected as a host for a Disney Side Celebration last month. My family and I usually show our Disney Side by enjoying Disney movies and attending Disney events hosted in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area together when we can, like our recent outing to Disney on Ice.
My early childhood and family instructors are great at letting me share parties like this with our class. Friends from my son’s class got to help show their Disney Side last week.
The Disney Side Celebration website had a video on how to make pirate and princess hats with headbands. I made a template for the crown and pirate hats, traced them out on felt, and cut them out being doubled over. Then I folded them over the plastic headbands and hot glued them shut. It was fun to see how the kids wanted to personalize them with stickers and glitter glue.
There were a few images okay to copy that I found online and enlarged them by 40%. I also laminated the images for worry that the black ink might bleed onto someone’s artwork. The kids had the option to then use them as silhouettes and paint onto white paper or color around with marker.
A few volunteered to take photos with Disney themed props found on Etsy.
We gathered at the end of class time for a light lunch. The parents and children were all such good sports for participating and the teachers were great at improvising when one important bag of supplies was brought to the class late for the party. Thank you so much!
