Creative Origami and Paper Flowers Book Review

December 14, 2016 by Karen

When I get free time, reading and crafts, are a couple of my favorite past times.  These two books, Creative Origami and Beyond plus The Art of Paper Flowers combine my favorites.  Both titles are available from quartoknows.com

Title:  Creative Origami and Beyond

Paperback

ISBN-13:  978-1-63322-164-2

Suggested retail:  $19.95 US

Creative Origami & Beyond gives you wonderful color step-by-step instructions to create beautiful folded pieces of art. Each project gives you a heads up on what materials are needed to complete the project.  This book also discusses and provides a few projects with wet-fold origami, which I had not heard of before.  Projects in Creative Origami and Beyond are contributed by Jenn Chan, Coco Sato, Stacie Tamaki, and Paul Frasco.  There are 16 different creations provided in this title.

Title:  The Art of Paper Flowers

Hardcover

ISBN-13:  978-1-58923-936-4

Suggested retail:  $26.99 US

The Art of Paper Flowers shows how you can make thirty-five realistic-looking flowers out of paper. I wish I would have had this book a few months ago when I made the display pictured below!  It would have made my life easier and I think the display more attractive.

The author shares flower projects she learned from her grandmother in this title.  Her grandmother’s original patterns (with adaptation from wood fibers to paper) are included.

The Art of Paper Flowers gives you step-by-step instructions and photographs.  Each flower project gives you a material list, a little story about the flower, and then the instructions.  I haven’t had much time lately to try these projects, but if they come out at all like those represented in the photos, they will be beautiful.

Disclosure:  I received book titles for this post.  No other compensation was received.
