This craft project was posted on a blog titled “I Can Teach My Child”. http://www.icanteachmychild.com/2011/05/tie-dye-butterfly-magnet.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+icanteachmychild/HJwa+(I+can+teach+my+child!)&utm_content=FaceBook.
I thought the butterflies were cute and easy to do. I have shown some of the steps as we did the project, just as on the attached page link. We have yet to purchase magnetic tape and place them on the fridge.
You will need 1 coffee filter per butterfly (makes the wings), markers, a spray bottle with water, pom poms, one clothespin per butterfly, googly eyes (2 per butterfly). You can try tacky glue or Elmer’s glue. I hot glued the pom poms on for my girls.

Letting filters dry. Less water is probably better. They took a while to dry. |
Close-up to one of the filters. Neat to see the colors bleed out on filter. |
