About This Book:
As Little Cub and Grampa Bear’s fishing adventure is interrupted by mischievous otters, the young polar bear begins to question why we must love others…even the seemingly unlovable.
Review:
Little Cub is out fishing with Grampa Bear and complains loudly at the otters for scaring the fish away. Grampa then tries to explain to Little Cub of how we need to love everyone and how God created us to love others, but sometimes we don’t always feel like loving them. Grampa also briefly tries to explain faith to Little Cub – God loving us with not being able to see or touch or feel him, but knowing he’s is always there for us.
This is a sweet book for little hands. The illustrations are done with a soft palette. My three-year-old loved the images. Along with the message of God providing unconditional love and needing to love everyone, it also brings up the importance of spending time together. God Gave Us Love may be a little wordy for some toddlers, but it contains cute images to keep their attention and carries the important message of God’s love.
