I can’t imagine the pain a parent feels with the loss of a child. In Chasing Grace, a family loses their little 10-year-old girl from a gun accident during her birthday party.
Pastor Jonathan Matheson, the father, has to face his demons and practice what he preaches in regard to forgiveness. In dealing with grief, alcoholism, and a failing to accept responsibility makes this film good to learn from, but very, very sad. There are family secrets, depression, bad cops, and more. With everything going on, not a lot of depth is put into all these important issues.
There are alcohol and physical violence in Chasing Grace so this is not a kid-friendly film. This title is loosely based on true events.
Disclosure: I received a copy of Chasing Grace to review. No other compensation was received.
