This past weekend, we got to view Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie and my kids had a few friends over for a sleepover to celebrate. Fox Home Entertainment sent us a box of Epic goodies: overnight duffel bags, fleece blankets, Make Your Own Comic Book, color pencils, whoopee cushions, easy readers, activity books, and capes to make the night monumental.
Captain Underpants came out on digital HD on August 29th. It will be on DVD and Hero Edition Blue-ray and 4K Ultra HD September 12. For a limited time, a wearable cape is offered with the purchase of the Hero Edition Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD.
I wasn’s sure what to expect from this movie, but was pleasantly surprised. There is some potty humor, but this movie shows the true strength of friendship and teamwork, which I feel trumps the humor that maybe isn’t favored by everyone. The story is of two best friends George Beard (Kevin
The story is of two best friends George Beard (Kevin Heart) and Harold Hutchins (Thomas Middleditch) who are about to be separated in their 4th-grade class by grumpy Principal Krupp (Ed Helms).
As a last resort, Harold points his toy hypno ring at the principal and turns him into the hero from their comic books – Captain Underpants. This movie also features the voice talent of Nick Kroll as Professor P (Poopypants). Get ready for laughs. We had kiddos ranging from 6-10 watching and I heard laughs from all of them while viewing the film. My husband and I enjoyed moments of laughter too.
CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS: THE FIRST EPIC MOVIE is directed by David Soren (Turbo) with Mireille Soria and Mark Swift serving as producers.
