If you haven’t already guessed it, When Calls the Heart is a favorite series of mine. I am happy to mention today that When Calls the Heart Season 3 is now available in a 10 disc box set!
This story collection is based on The Love Comes Softly series by Janette Oke. It takes place mostly in a little town called Hope Valley, which is in developing frontier.
Michael Landon, Jr., the son of late film and television legend Michale Landon, is the executive producer and director of “When Calls the Heart”. Erin Krakow (Army Wives), Daniel Lissing (Eye Candy), Jack Wagner (Melrose Place, and Lori Loughlin (Full House, 90210) star in this series. It is clean entertainment with stories of rich relationships, self-empowerment and even girl power with Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow), a teacher who left her big city elite life for educating little minds in a small town.
There are some healthy, budding love stories in When Calls the Heart, but they are very tame compared to what is on prime-time television programming. My 10-year-old daughter likes to watch the series with me and I feel it is safe for her viewing.
