I have the opportunity to feature Robert Rose books in the past and am happy to share a few of their new titles. Their books feature topics like cooking, health, and self-help. Here are a few titles following in that tradition.
Title: The Compassionate Chick’s Guide to DIY Beauty: 125 Recipes for Vegan, Gluten-Free, Cruelty-Free Makeup, Skin & Hair Products
Author: Sunny Subramanian (veganbeautyreview.com) and Chrystle Fiedler
ISBN 978-0-7788-0547-2
256 pages, 7″x10″
Suggested retail: $24.95 US
If I have the time, I like to make products to help improve my skin and hair versus buying them. I know then what goes in them and have a better idea on the pros and cons of each ingredient. Plus the overall cost is usually less if you take the time to make it yourself.
The instructions in this title are easy-to-follow and there are step-by-step photos to help us understand how to make the products. There are over 100 full-color photographs included in this title.
I love that there is a DIY gift section in The Compassionate Chick’s Guide to DIY Beauty. I know I always appreciate gifts more when I know someone has made them. If you are unfamiliar of the ingredients used, there is an alphabetical ingredient listing with beneficial properties noted. I hope you will find most of the ingredients already in your home like I did to sample the recipes provided.
Title: The Essential Step-by-Step Guide to Acupressure with Aromatherapy
Author: Karin Parramore
ISBN 978-0-7788-0546-5

Before reading this book, I thought acupressure was always done with needles, like acupuncture. Actually, it is done with the fingers and stimulates the body’s ability to help heal itself. If acupressure is done correctly, blood circulation can be improved and muscle tension released.
The Essential Step-by-Step Guide to Acupressure with Aromatherapy Treatments also showcases step-by-step photos. There are more than 300 color photos in this title.
This book will give you and overview of Chinese medicine and treatment of disease, the 12 systems of Chinese medicine, 64 key acupressure points for treating diseases, and treating health problems with acupressure & aromatherapy. There are 64 health conditions included, like a cough, toothache, some skin conditions, and more.

Natural Antibiotics & Botanical Treatments is a paperback with full color throughout and more than 50 color photographs. This book makes it easy to understand natural antibiotics and how herbal remedies complement what our body can do on its own.
46 plant medicines are provided in this title, like thyme, oregano, chamomile, and even horseradish. 20 common disorders are arranged alphabetically for easy referencing.
The last section of the book is an index of the herbs with their profiles and cross-referencing of what they can treat.
Title: 175 Best Air Fryer Recipes
Author: Camilla V. Saulsbury
ISBN 978-0-7788–0551-9
Suggested retail: $24.95 US
My family and I switched from owning a deep fat fryer to air fryer about a year ago. I’ve been looking for more ways to use it and the author, Camilla V. Saulsbury writes excellent cookbooks.
Air frying helps you make crispy foods with little or no added oil. I discovered from this title that they can also be used to roast and bake.
Air fryers cook with circulated hot air. This cookbook will make you salivate with classic favorites like Beer-Battered Fried Fish, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and Classic French Fries and they are all in a much lighter version than the original. There are 30 dessert recipes and also that many for breakfast/brunch.
Camilla will also give you advice on what to keep in the pantry for using your air fryer with, what to consider when buying an air fryer, and how to have many successes with your unit.
Robert Rose titles are well written and are great for giving during the holiday season.
Disclosure: I received these titles for a potential post. No other compensation was received. The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
