Book Review: Miracles Are For Real: What Happens When Heaven Touches Earth
Do you believe miracles still happen? Definitely, you say, because you or a loved one has experienced a miracle. Or maybe you say, I’m not sure. You’ve heard stories, but you’re skeptical. It seems there are a lot of imposters claiming to perform them.
The answer? Absolutely. And while the miraculous accounts in this book are evidence of God’s working today, that’s just the beginning. Pastor and teacher Dr. Jim Garlow carefully examines biblical teaching about miracles, and provides honest, trustworthy information that will boost your faith–and help understand how to recognize a true miracle.
Review: I do believe in miracles and love hearing of stories about them. With that in mind, this story brought a smile to my face and on occasion, a few tears from my eyes as I read the amazing miracles people have experienced in their lives that were re-told by mainly James L. Garlow.
Miracles Are For Real: What Happens When Heaven Touches Earth answered some questions I had, like why a miracle seems to often happen “at the nick of time” and why prayers are not always answered. Mr. Garlow explains in a personal way of his own waiting on a miracle. His wife is battling an aggressive cancer yet to the end of him writing this book. This book also share frauds and phonies, the role of an angel with miracles, and why some people almost seem to be magnets for miracles and other points of interest in understanding miracles.
The authors state that having a miracle occur should not be our ultimate goal. Miracles Are For Real shares biblical stories of miracles, but does not come off being preachy.
I think it is a great book for someone looking to ignite a feeling of inspiration or just to read entertaining stories of people experiencing amazing miracles. I like a quote used near the end of the book by Albert Einstein, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
