Bob and the River of Time is a cute children’s book. It features a character named Bob who had gotten into a row boat and to begin an adventure. Bob lives in Grumbledown Lodge and discovers plants and creatures along the way in his boat – some easy to spot and some hidden amongst the book’s pages.
Bob starts his journey in spring and as you go through the pages with your child, the seasons change bringing forth new critters and plants or lack there of when winter arrives. Then there is the introduction to cast and crew. This section will reveal information about the individuals Bob discovers and some true facts.
If you get stumped and can’t find all of the plants and critters, black and white maps are included in the back to help master your discoveries.
This book isn’t terribly long in the number of pages it includes, but it does take time to stumble upon some of the characters included. My six-year-old enjoyed finding them with me and hearing a little about the critters and plants. It was a bit like Where’s Waldo. The illustrations are very cute and colorful.
