It’s amazing when you sit down and think of all the wonderful things bees do for us. Beecology is a company that wants to make natural skincare and hair products using bee created ingredients – using honey, beeswax, and other ingredients that are good for us as consumers and the world. Their products are made in the U.S.A.
The Rzepka family, who own Beecology, also give to a charitable arm, called SweetYear.org. This is a neat way of giving it forward. Your consumer dollars are distributed to charities based on your own personal preferences, lifestyle and principles. For an example, look at this picture, below. You purchase participating products, and enter the code printed on the product online. After submitting the code, you are given a list of charities that you can donate the 10% of profits from Beecology to. Charitable distributions are then made December 1 of each year.
I was sent Beecology Natural Lip Balms for this review. Natural ingredients are used instead of chemicals to moisturize your lips. They are available as single tubes or a multi-pack. My review was done with the Beecology 5 Pack Holiday Tin, which retails for $10.99. The single tubes run about $2.99 each.
The tin contains 2 Buzz Balm Lip balms (in peppermint) and 3 new flavors (Orange Ginger Lip Balm, Lemon and Lavender Lip Balm and Nude, which is unscented). My personal favorite has been the Lemon Lavender Lip Balm. It has a nice lemony scent that I find refreshing and my lips feel smooth. Let me just share the ingredients of my favorite tube – Bees Wax, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Capuacu Butter, Olive Oil, Lavender and Lemon Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Propolis Extract, and Natural Honey Flavor. Beecology Natural Lip Balms do NOT include: artificial fragrance and colors, silicone or parabens.
