My family and I got to see “Ant-Man and The Wasp” when it was out in theatres and we were excited to watch it again when the copy to review arrived. This title came out on digital on October 2nd and to Blu-ray and DVD yesterday.
You will still get a kick out of this title if you haven’t seen “Ant-Man” from 2015, but it is fun to see how the characters evolve and to watch the film with some background history.
Paul Rudd is back playing Scott Lang (Ant-Man) who is an electrical engineer turned thief to now a hero. Michael Douglas is back too as Dr. Hank Pym with Michelle Pfeiffer as his wife, Janet van Dyne. Their daughter, Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) becomes The Wasp.
Scott is on house arrest at the start of “Ant-Man and The Wasp” due to the aftermath from “Captain America: Civil War”. Scott had joined the Steve Rogers group of Avengers and used powers after the Accords were signed, which got him in trouble. Scott is now trying to keep clean and to provide a good home for his daughter when she gets to spend time with him.
Dr. Hank Pym and his daughter, Hope, contact Ant-Man to see if he can help rescue Janet van Dyne from the Quantum Realm, which Scott got out of in “Ant-Man”. A tricky component to this rescue mission is the fact that he is still 0n house arrest. Luis (Michael Peña) and the X-con Security crew are back again and have to try to thwart the efforts of a new adversary called Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and her ally Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne).
This film has some pretty funny scenes with a good amount of suspense. It does a good job putting the viewer behind the eyes of Ant-Man as he shrinks and grows too. I highly recommend this film. “Ant-Man and The Wasp” is a great title to add to your movie collection at home or rent for an enjoyable family night.
