Review:
I’ll admit that I am not a “neat freak”, but I do like the day to run smoothly. Young children seem to make organization a little more of a challenge. There is a great quote by Phillis Diller in regards to keeping a house in order with kids, “Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.”
Absolutely Organize Your Family was written by Debbie Lillard, a professional organizer. The tips provided seem practical for busy moms and dads. This book starts off with a self evaluation on how organized you currently are and then the need to set goals. It then discusses time management, setting up schedules, and developing routines.
Debbie shares easy to follow tips on how to organize your family’s belongings. There are also some great ideas on how to involve your children in the decision making process. If they are allowed to have input, they are usually more likely respond positively.
CPR your home – Categorize, Purge, and Rearrange. Tackle organizing your families activities and events. Then spend time with what matters most – your family.
This book has some nice tips, probably best for a new mom or mom with young children. It may not be as valuable to a family without children at home since many of the tips are with them in mind.
