Big Rig shares the story of Frankie, a friendly big rig or known to others as a semi truck. Frankie takes us along on a big job he has to do. He makes lots of fun sound effects throughout the story, even suffering a blowout while on his journey. My kids liked hearing what Frankie would sound like. My oldest (pictured above reading to her siblings) was fun to watch as she told the story to her brother and sister. My oldest is seven.
Big Rig is actually published by Disney. I did not realize they made books beyond those featuring the characters from their movies.
The illustrations by Ned Young are very cute. With the vehicles having eyes, it reminds me a bit of Cars, which my son can’t get enough of. He is a fan of Big Rig too. This title is suggested for children ages 3-5. It was a hit with my three-year-old and five-year-old. Big Rig is also a great title for early reading.
