I am hoping as my children become older, opportunities to travel enter our future, even beyond the borders of the United States to visit friends and family. To help spur my want to travel, which is certainly strong after this long and cold Minnesota winter, I reviewed the Traveler Leather Journal and Passport Cover from Rustico Leather.
Rustico products are made from top-grain cowhide. Each piece is unique with the weathering and aging of the leather. All of their products are available for personalization done by their craftsmen too.
Traveler Leather Journal
The Traveler Leather Journal features 160 cream-colored, rough-cut, blank pages (6.25″ x 7.5″) that are hand sewn in top-grain cowhide. It come is in Flap-tie closure, like I received, and Buckle. 
The paper used is a cotton-rag blend. The edges have been hand torn during the paper making process to give them texture and almost a scalloped appearance. Rustic uses recycled post-consumer waste to create their paper.
The Traveler Leather Journal is 6.5″ x 8″ and has a base price of $59.50. It comes in a variety of colors and personalization by laser engraving is optional. It is an excellent writing medium for personal goals, poetry, short stories, random thoughts, and to certainly record your recent and past adventures.
Passport Cover
The Passport Cover features two pockets beyond its cover to hold a standard passport. The pockets are each of a different style, but both are to allow easy removal of your passport. This product is machine-stitched and made of top-grain cowhide. It is 4″ wide by 5.5″ long when folded. The Passport Cover allows you to protect your important document and yet show some style. There are five color options to select from with the Passport Cover. 
The Passport Cover retails for a base price of $24.50. Which isn’t very much, even added onto the US passport cost, for the style and protection of your most precious travel documents. You can also choose to have personalization done by laser engraving with your name or even highlight where you have traveled to.
Machine Sewn Luggage Tag
This luggage tag is made of top-grain cowhide and has a buckle closure. The back of the tag is gray felt. It holds a 2.125″x3.25″ information card that is included. The leather luggage tag is functional and professional.
This luggage tag may be personalized with your name, a date, or inscribed. The base price is $18.00 plus personalization, which is optional.
Rustico products are all made in Utah. They only select leathers from tanners located in the U.S. and use only recycled paper to decrease their effect on the environment.
