More Of My Recent Projects

Sorry I haven’t posted lately. I had never had a garage sale and a kind friend allowed me bring my items to a sale she and her mom were having. I did not realize all the time involved in sorting, pricing, and so forth! Then to top it off. The graphics card went bad in the computer I have been primarily using and so that has changed my computer usage too.

I had seen a cute project featured on I Like Big Bows a while back and wanted to try my own hand at the project.  The tutorial is from Less Than Perfect Life Of Bliss.  The owl bodies are 2 1/2″ in height.  I had to eye up the sizes for the other pieces and with to fit across alligator clips.  I made one for each of my daughters and the other for my niece, who is visiting for the holiday weekend.  The owls are made of felt.

I had to do some finishing after this photo was taken, trimming up felt and cleaning up excess hot glue.  I had read for fine hair, line the clip with felt.  I did this for my neice and my daughter, Jayden, since they are plagued with fine hair like I am.  This is to try and keep them more stable after initial placement.

The girls had already gone to bed when I finished so I will have to see if any of them will model them for me tomorrow (guess it is after midnight so later today).

Here are a few pics from the other day~

Had to share this one.  My father is normally very serious, but he did his own version of modeling a hair clip.  Note the placement on his ear.

On I Like Big Bows, there was also a tutorial for a loopy hair bow at Sweet and Sassy.  I had to try this one out this weekend too.  Here is what I created with 3/8″ gross grain ribbon in purple and white from Gifts International, who had what I thought were great prices.  I just added a simple button on top.  I have to clean up the strand left from the hot glue yet shown in this picture.
