I was recently introduced to BloodSTOP, which is to quickly control bleeding caused by minor wounds. My family has had it’s share of bumps, bruises, and wounds in the past. Our routine is usually to clean, apply topical antibiotic, and then dress with a Band-Aid.
With Band-Aids or even a dressing made with gauze to minor wounds, there can be pain and irritation when removing or repositioning the product. Sometimes the clot can also become disturbed. BloodSTOP is non-irritating and can be removed easily with just water!
BloodSTOP is designed to rapidly stop bleeding and protect wounds. It adheres to the skin’s surface and creates pressure to seal and protect the wound while it stops the bleeding. BloodSTOP was originally created for surgical wound care and for this application is BloodSTOP iX.
BloodSTOP looks like gauze, but is made of natural 100% cotton cellulose. When exposed to blood or other bodily fluids, it quickly absorbs them, transforms into a gel to seal the wound, and creates a transparent and protective layer. It actively works to stop the bleeding and helps with the process of healing.

I put a small amount of water in a glass dish. I tried to dip half of the sample material in the water, but it was difficult to master this amount and take the photograph so it almost became entirely wet. Oops!

I then placed the material on my inner forearm. It became somewhat gel-like in appearance.
