My family and I sat down last night to watch THE MULLIGAN. This film is based on the popular book by Wally Armstrong and Ken Blanchard, THE MULLIGAN.
THE MULLIGAN is a wonderful movie. I am not a golfer and I still thought this film was beautiful. It has an all-star cast that includes Eric Close (NASHVILLE, AMERICAN SNIPER) as Paul, Pat Boone as the Old Pro, and PGA golfer Tom Lehman and broadcasting legend Jim Nantz as themselves.
Paul Callaway (Eric Close) is a busy business owner. He has been separated from his wife for the last five years and his son, who appears to be in his 20s, feels his dad walked out on him and his mom. He wants nothing to do with him.
Paul takes part in a charity golf tournament with the hope of meeting up with a possible future Chinese business partner. He doesn’t have the best golf game and is told to connect with The Old Pro (Pat Boone). This connection with The Old Pro ends up doing more than improving Paul’s golf swing. The Old Pro teaches Paul to look at the bigger picture and to consider re-evaluating his life and his priorities. He asks Paul if he needs to consider a second shot in life and to take a mulligan.
Our lives get busy and we sometimes forget what is most important to us and how necessary it is to have God in our lives. This movie is heartfelt and inspiring. The pastor near the end of the film said some important words that stick with me, “Life is a very special occasion. Don’t miss it.”
You can see THE MULLIGAN for only two nights in theaters on April 18 & 19th https://themulliganmovie.com/theaters. One reader will win a digital copy of the book, The Mulligan. You can enter via the Rafflecopter form below. The giveaway is open to residents of the USA.
About the book, The Mulligan: THE MULLIGAN is based on the beloved book by former PGA
touring pro Wally Armstrong and bestselling author and business executive Ken Blanchard.
This inspiring story about relationships, forgiveness, and priorities is a shot of grace. Golf’s
gracious do-over, a mulligan is the beginning of Paul McAllister’s second chance. Guided by
the wisdom and advice of the Old Pro, Paul learns about priorities, self-confidence, and
playing a good game both on and off the course. The Mulligan is a parable of second
chances.
