A couple of years ago, we hosted a couple outdoor movie nights during the summer months in Minnesota. Outside of the uninvited mosquitoes, it was a lot of fun.
I had purchased a screen with no stand from Amazon and we tied it up to the side of what was my husband’s work trailer to project onto. Unfortunately, we forgot to take it down and it got windy during the night. Some of the grommets had pulled through the material by the next day. This left us in the market for another screen with hoping to do outdoor movie nights again this summer.
I found AbdTech’s Portable Outdoor Projector Screen that has a 100 inch diagonal and comes with its own stand. It also comes with its own bag for storage. See more options using buyDLP.com.
With the unboxing, all items were neatly tucked in the travel bag. The screen was wrapped snuggly and so it took a little time for the screen up on the stand to lay without a curl.
Instructions are included with this product. It took me a little bit to set up the first time, but now that I know the layout of the stand and can go without needing the pictures for reference, I should be able to set up in under 10 minutes. The pictures in the instructions helped me, but I wish the wording had been done differently.
There are plastic corner pieces with two different angles for the frame. The included ground anchors would go through the holes pictured.
Once the frame is built, then there are some super strength velcro straps to attach the screen to the aluminum frame. The spring-loaded anchor pins are also pictured below.
I haven’t been able to project a picture on the screen yet due to limited space in our home and weather conditions. We have had only a narrow window of springlike weather and then we got about a foot of snow dumped on us plus frozen ground still so I haven’t gotten to set up the screen outside.
The screen material feels and looks similar to the product we had success with a few summers back and so I am confident in the clarity and function of the screen.
There was one grommet that looked a bit messy on the screen, but it didn’t seem to hinder function.
