My 8-year-old loves penguins and so she was very excited when received Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania. This title features stars from the WWE – John Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, Paige, and Mr. McMahon. They are characters of the “The Hang 5”, a group of five surfer penguins who always have each other’s backs when doing extreme stunts. This animated film also features the voices of Jon Heder, Diedrich Bader, Melissa Sturm, and Jeremy Shada.
Surf’s Up 2 came out on DVD and digital on January 17 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Cody Maverick (Jeremy Shada) is a great surfer and likes to teach the local kids how to master the waves on Pengu Island with his Pengu Surf Academy. Cody is contemplating new adventures and his longtime dream of joining The Hang 5 has recently become a reality. In order to join the crew, Cody has to master the waves by a mysterious surf spot known as The Trenches off of Slaughter Island in order to succeed at their initiation. Is giving up teaching worth his ultimate dream?
This title is directed by Henry Yu. Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania is based on a screenplay by Abdul Williams. The film is a co-financed production between Sony Pictures Animation and WWE Studios, and is produced by Michelle L.M. Wong and Michael Luisi is the executive producer of this title.
