With Halloween right around the corner, I was recently introduced to this fun idea of #BooitForward. This is where you would surprise someone with a bundle of Halloween goodies and treats being left at their door. You would encourage the recipient(s) to also Boo someone new with including a “You’ve Been Boo’d” card.
BOO’ing is back at Walmart and this year and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has teamed up with partners Mars, Wrigley, and Kellog’s for an all-inclusive experience celebrating the blockbuster movie franchise Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters: Answer the Call is available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and digital. It stars some very funny ladies with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie, Jones, and Kate McKinnon. Chris Hemsworth plays their pretty boy receptionist in the film. This female crew tries to save Manhattan from new spirits and spooks that start popping up all over the city.
I remember watching the original Ghostbusters as a teen and liked seeing cameos by most of the original cast in this film – Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts. Harold Ramis (Egon Spengler) had passed away. Slimer even makes a cameo appearance in this new film. 😉
Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, The Extended Edition on Blu-ray and digital has a bunch of bonus features, like 15 deleted, extended, and alternate, scenes, gag reels, filmmaker commentaries, plus more than 60 additional minutes of extended and alternate scenes available with Ultraviolet download. Five featurettes give you an inside look at supernatural visual effects, the “making-of” the ghosts from the film, and in-depth insight into the team’s look, attitude, and weaponry, as well as the casting of Chris Hemsworth. There is even a recipe to make your own slime and inside peek of how the set was slimed.
This title is directed by Paul Feig and written by Katie Dippold and Paul Feig. Ghostbusters: Answer the Call is based on the 1984 Ivan Reitman film, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. It has a run time of 133 (Extended Edition) and 116 minutes for the theatrical version. The theatrical version is rated PG-13 and the extended edition is unrated. My husband and I loved Ghostbusters: Answer the Call!
Disclosure: I received a #BooItForward kit for this post. No other compensation was received. The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
