Love Cooking Company makes some unique products to make desserts extra special. I received their Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip™, Cutie Cakes™, and PUSHPAN®.
The Fill N Flip™ is a two-part filled layer cake set.
Initially you will want to wash and dry the pans. Then they should be greased and floured. The instructions recommended two boxes of cake mix, depending upon the thickness of the batter. I used two Betty Crocker mixes and it made enough for this cake, a small loaf pan and also a pan of the Cutie Cakes™! The prepared batter gets poured into the two cake pans and filled about 3/4 full. Then bake as recommended on the cake mix box. Allow the cakes to cool before removing.
Since we had so much batter from the two boxes, we might have filled a bit above 3/4 deep. There was some run over in the stove that I have to take care of.
I used a spray style of oil and would go a little heavier the next time because it did stick in one area. I was gone yesterday for scrapbooking, but now I can fill the one side of the cake with something like pudding, berries, fruit, pie filling and more. Then to flip the other cake portion on top of it. You can decorate the outside of the cake as usual.
The Cutie Cakes™ produce mini cakes. Again, wash the pan before use and then grease with butter or margarine. I used spray on oil that seems to have worked well. I do not have a batter dispenser and it was recommended. The dispenser or a pastry bag would have made my presentation less messy, but I was without both when I tried the pan out.
This pan uses about half of a standard box mix. The little cakes should be baked about 10 minutes at the temperature suggested on the box. You can check with a toothpick and make sure it comes out clean to indicate doneness. When the cakes are cool, they can be decorated. Mini cupcake liners can be used in this pan. These little cakes have the diameter of a quarter.
The last item is the PUSHPAN®. I plan on trying it for cheesecake since the pan would replace springform pans, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. It can be used to make cakes, tarts, the cheesecake, custards and more.
PUSHPAN® is 100% guaranteed leak proof and watertight. It has a 2-in-1 design using fill lines. You don’t need to use liners with the pan and it comes with a 25-year warranty. PUSHPAN® is made of aluminum and is dishwasher safe, but hand washing will extend the life of the pan.
I know there is some debate on using bakeware with aluminum. You just don’t want to use aluminum bakeware if it is scratched. PUSHPAN® can be used up to 450° F and is freezer safe.
