Among Friends, LLC was created by two friends, Suzie Miller and Lizann Anderson. Their goal is to help people fill their kitchens with fresh-baked goods made from the best ingredients. Each of their baking mixes is handcrafted and named for someone they love.
I was sent Suzie Q.’s Oatmeal Chocolate Chip and Phil’em Chocolate Cranberry Cookie Mix to sample. The oatmeal chocolate chip mix arrived first. I thought making the cookies would be a good project for my eight-year-old to tackle with a little bit of assistance. Vanilla, butter, and an egg were the only additional ingredients needed with each of the mixes.
The batter was a little bit runny, but we prepared them as directed on parchment paper and baked at 350° F for about nine minutes.
The cookies spread out quite a bit and were tricky to remove from the pan, but still were great-tasting.
I heard back from the company that maybe the increased spreading was due to the oil or butter used or possibly the egg. After thinking about things, I had questioned if my daughter may have grabbed an egg of ours that may have been comparable to jumbo from the store. We have chickens and collect our own eggs. A combination of oil and butter, coconut oil, or non-dairy substitute may be used instead of the 1/3 cup soft butter in the instructions.
I then proceeded to use the second mix with butter and vanilla, but made sure to grab an egg that I thought would comparable to a medium egg from the store.
The ingredients were then mixed together.

The bag says it will make 32 cookies. I got 24 with how I prepared them.
