Goodness! There was excitement in the house when these three dolls arrived. My six and eight-year-old have been enjoying time spent with Lalaloopsy Girls – Cinder Slippers and April Sunsplash .
We also received a Moxie Girlz doll named Avery.
Cinder Slippers (SRP $19.99) is a crazy hair doll. She has some strands of hair that look like hot pink yarn and other strands that are stiff, but bendable and feel like they are coated with wax or some similar substance.
Cinder Slippers comes with extra bendy hair, curling wand, barrettes, and glitter. My girls had fun adding the glitter and styling her hair. The product description says you can cut Cinder Slipper’s hair, but I didn’t mention that possibility to my daughters for the fear that they may try to then cut their own hair.
Her skirt, shoes, and necklace (not pictured here) are removable.
The additional hair stands can be weaved in with the other hair.
Or to loop and anchor to the existing strands and style.
The bendable strands are easily styled with the enclosed curling wand.
Additional strands can add a splash of color.
April Sunsplash (SRP $14.99) was sewn from a rainbow umbrella and is a grown up Lalaoopsy Girls doll. She is going to boarding school at L.A.L.A. (Lalaloopsy Academy for Learning Arts) Prep.
Her strands of brightly colored lanyard hair can be styled with the enclosed comb. April Sunsplash also travels with her pet toucan.
April Sunsplash’s shoes and dress are removable, but she has bare skin on her upper half beneath. Lalaloopsy Girls are approximately 9″ tall.
Moxie Girlz Sunkissed Magic Hair Doll Avery (SRP $19.99) comes with a blue glitter that changes to purple with sunlight. She comes with four rubber bands, six barrettes, and a comb to also style her hair. Avery can sit and stand on her own too.
Here is the blue gel before going out in the sun. A small foam applicator brush is included and it seems to wash out okay with water to re-use.
Here is Avery’s hair after catching some sun. It does not take long for the color to change.
The barrettes and bands are fun to apply.
For some reason my eight-year-old discovered that Avery’s feet/shoes were removable. I am guessing other shoes may be available for purchase with this feature. This is our first Moxie Girlz doll. Avery is 10.5″ tall.
My girls have had lots of fun with the Lalaloopsy and Moxie Girlz dolls. They seem to hold up to play well and allow for creativity and some individual expression. The Lalaloopsy dolls are recommended for ages 4+ and the Moxie Girlz is 5+.
Disclosure: I received product samples for this review. No other compensation was received.
