In an attempt to live a healthier lifestyle, I had looked at the commercial deodorant/antiperspirant I was using and found it difficult to pronounce many of the ingredients plus not knowing what they were without research and some were actually debatable on overall safety.
I tried making my own deodorant from a Pinterest recipe earlier this year that was coconut oil, beeswax, baking soda, arrowroot powder, and essential oil(s) of your choice (I used lavender). That’s it.
I purchased deodorant containers that twist up as a stick style off of Amazon.com and they looked like regular sticks of deodorant when they cooled down after pouring. The homemade concoction seemed to work fairly well, unless it was a stressful or busy day. Then it couldn’t quite perform all day.
I had been sent Truly’s cream deodorant to try over the last few weeks. It has organic ingredients, which are also GMO free. This product contains: organic coconut oil, organic powdered sugar, baking soda, and beeswax. It could actually be considered edible with the ingredient list. I am surprised that with just a slight difference in ingredients, it seems to effectively give all day coverage for me.
To use Truly’s, a pea sized amount should be spread on each underarm. This product is non-staining and non-stinging. It boosts the pleasant scent of coconut.
Truly’s is packaged as a cream because of the coconut oil melting in high temps and being contained in a well container versus a stick style. The containers used are BPA and PVC free.
The 2.5 fl. oz. container like pictured above has a suggested retail of $8.99. To learn more about Truly’s please visit http://www.trulysnaturaldeodorant.com/. Truly’s also carries a creamsicle scented deodorant with sweet orange an vanilla essential oils. They also carry a formula that appears to be the same as what I received, but is labeled as a kid’s version.
Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above in exchange for review from Giveaway Service website. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Reference ID: pm7b6982e584636e6a1cda934f1410299c
