This past Friday, my family and I got to participate in a family movie night (#PenguinsChillOut) courtesy of Fox Home Entertainment. Penguins of Madagascar was released on DVD and Blu-ray March 17th. It’s a great movie for the entire family with the cute and cuddly Private, Rico, Skipper, and Kowalski finding that Dave the octopus is not a fan of penguins. They partner with members of the North Wind to save and protect penguins across the world.
We were sent a collection of goodies to inspired by Penguins of Madagascar.
Since penguins enjoy the cold, we were provided an ice cream maker and penguin ice cube tray. We made frozen yogurt to enjoy.
With the Penguins of Madagascar loving Cheezy Dibbles, we made a few cheesy items, like cheese sticks with rolled out whole wheat bread, american cheese, and a bit of butter in a skillet to toast the bread. They were served with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. We also had popcorn sprinkled with nacho cheese powder.
Fox Home Entertainment sent us come cute penguin cupcake rings to top our cupcakes. There was no shortage of snacks that evening!
We were also provided with a few games that we tackled after dinner and before the show. One of the Blu-ray extras is “Flipper Slap Shake Waddle and Roll”, which was part of boot camp training for the kids to be spies. This exercise is about having fun and so the kids worked on dancing.
We also worked on a logo for our spy team and the last exercise of boot camp training was showing sheer fighting style with the “ultimate karate pose”.
We also did a throwing contest with a target for the Penguins paper airplanes. The children stood back and tried to come as close to the target as they could with their airplanes. Please excuse the messy background.
A big thank you goes out to Fox Home Entertainment for making our #PenguinsChillOut party so much fun. 🙂 I encourage you to check out the release of Penguins of Madagascar for a great family movie night.
