I Can Learn the Bible is a cute 52 week devotional in a sturdy hardcover. It is an adaptation of the author’s father’s book, The Joshua Code. Each week, parents can help their child put a scripture to memory with a devotional written in a way kids can understand and the knowing that God loves them and is always there for them.
This title is recommended for children ages 4-8 and I think that is fairly accurate. I spent the most time reviewing this book while discussing a couple of weeks from the book with my eight-year-old. My younger two children enjoyed having the stories read to them, but did not have interest in memorizing at this time.
The included illustrations in I Can Learn the Bible are cute and the author provides a nice guide on how to work on discussion and repeating to make memorization easier for young minds. This book would be great for a home library or as a gift for confirmation or a baptism.
