My children are pretty good about drinking milk, but I know some parents don’t have it that easy and sometimes kids just wished milk would take on a different flavor to mix things up a bit. MilkSplash™ is a zero-calorie milk flavoring to give kids a convenient option. It comes in these little 1.62 fl. oz. plastic bottles that are portable and squeezable.
One gentle squeeze is recommended for an 8 fl. oz serving of milk. One bottle provides 24 servings with a serving size of 1/2 tsp (2 ml). It is recommended to use all of the contents within one month of opening and MilkSplash™ does not require refrigeration. The little bottles have colorful bears printed on the wrappers that are awfully cute.MilkSplash™ was created by S&D Beverage Innovations, LLC, which was founded in 1927 and is based in Concord, N.C. The company is a division of S&D Coffee, Inc. S&D is the nation’s largest custom coffee roaster and blender of iced tea for the food service industry. MilkSplash™ is
- Zero-calorie with artificial sweetener sucralose
- Fat-free
- Contains natural and artificial ingredients
- BPA-free
- Kosher
- Gluten and allergen free
It can be used with non-dairy milk too. You just need to taste and possibly adjust the amount of MilkSplash™ added to fit your desired taste. Do not use this product to flavor your water. It is designed to use only with milk.
To use MilkSplash™, simply flip back the cap and point the top down toward your glass of milk. Squeeze on the bottle once and replace the cap. If MilkSplash™ misses the mark and gets on your clothes, it is designed to come out in the wash. With trying the provided flavors, my children decided that Strawberry Swirl was their favorite. I liked the Orange Cream Dream the best. We found the taste just as good if not better with less than a full squirt of MilkSplash™. It also cut back on the sweetness of the sucralose aftertaste.
I haven’t tried it yet, but I was curious how MilkSplash™ would work flavoring vanilla ice cream or perhaps mixing into malts. If you want to go the other direction and try it in warm milk as a treat, you will want to heat your milk first and add MilkSplash™ after. Since I try and avoid artificial ingredients, I would love to see a few flavors marketed with a natural twist for this product.MilkSplash™ is available at Walmart and select Target stores across the country. It is also available at HEB, Food Lion, and Harris Teeter. The flavor Horchata Piñata, which is flavored to be like rice milk with a cinnamon sweetener is also available at HEB.
