Disclosure: I received no financial compensation for this post, but did received a Painmaster in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
Thankfully my body has been good to me for quite a while (knock on wood). My husband on the other hand, has experienced a few aches and pains related to his now past work in construction. If you ever tried to ease the pain with alternative medicine, you might be familiar with CBD oil. For extra info on this topic check out Hemp Bombs CBD oil review. His last incident was from carrying bundles of shingles over his shoulder and up on a roof last fall. He went through a visit with an orthopedic specialist, then physical therapy and a steroid injection with some relief. Since he did not have full resolution after a few months, he had an MRI and there was some fluid found under the muscle bodies of the shoulder, but not tears or other abnormalities noted for causing his continued discomfort so he had been trying to take it easy and occasionally take an Aleve®. He also was dealing with some nerve damage but was able to go to www.neuropathyhelp.co/ to help renew his nerves.
Over the last few weeks he has been using Painmaster® Micro Current Therapy on his shoulder. Inside the packaging is a set of patches, 1 micro current controller, and small book of instructions.
For the warnings related to Micro Current Therapy: This device should NOT be used on individuals with Pacemakers, insulin pumps, transdermal drug delivery patches, or during pregnancy. It should not be used over an open wound and as always, if you suffer from an ailment or injury, consult your physician for proper medical advice. It is not recommended for anyone under the age of 12 unless directed by physician. The patches should not be used on the neck or head.
Micro-current technology works with the electrical current normally created by the body. Injured cells resist this natural electrical current put off from our bodies and this harms them by preventing the supply of blood, oxygen and vital nutrients from being utilized. Painmaster® patch micro-current enters the inflamed cells and restores the essential blood supply. This then helps to remove cell waste and allow direct pain relief.
Painmaster® is specifically recommended for:
- Back pain
- Muscular aches and pains
- Continuous and occasional pain
It is completely safe to use 24 hours a day and has a built-in battery that lasts up to 250 hours. The patches can be removed and re-applied several times. They patches have a sticky back that can be placed on the plastic sheet they came on when not in use.
To use, you want to apply to skin that is clean and dry. The control unit should be connected to the metal posts on the patches. Apply the patches across the painful area. Leave a little slack in the wire for movement and hold the patches in place for 10 seconds. There will be a flashing red light that means the device is working.
The company informed me that the red light on the controller will not flash until the patches are placed on the skin. If you have them connected and yet sitting on the plastic they small red light should not flash. With this information, my husband stored the unit one night with the controller attached to the patches on the kitchen counter while on the plastic sheet. I had to get up in the middle of the night with our son and there was flashing red light activity on my counter so I had to warn him to disconnect for storage.
Here are my thoughts overall on the Painmaster® Micro Current Therapy:
Pros:
- Works with no pain or discomfort – awesome!
- Natural pain relief – no drugs involved.
- My husband thought it did help his discomfort. Pain is a hard one to judge and depends so much on the individual and mindset, but he personally felt Painmaster® had helped. If the pain does not improve or becomes more or continues for 4-6 days, stop using the device and consult your physician.
- You want to periodically check the skin for any irritation from the patches and my husband had no irritation. The patches can be cleaned with a small amount of warm water and your skin should take a break from them after wearing for three continuous days.
Cons:
- It is said to be lightweight and discreet. My husband wears light shirts with the warmer weather and you could see a flashing red light under his clothing. He was a little deterred to wear it during work for the concern of clients asking him about the light.
- The battery in the controller can not be replaced. It appears to be a sealed unit.
My husband got caught in the rain while doing work outside. His shirt and skin were quite wet. The patches became slimy and slid off his shoulder. After allowing to sit and dry, the patches did work again. The patches should only be used when temperatures are 50 degrees Fahrenheit-113 degrees Fahrenheit and when humidity is 20-90%.
There was one night when my husband was wearing the Painmaster® shirtless to bed and somehow I rolled over and caught the wire. It tore a patch off his body that took off a bit of hair and that is the only discomfort indirectly experienced with this product. What a wake up call for him! My bad!
