90 Minutes in Heaven Coming to Theaters 9/11 {Plus Book Giveaway}

Pastor Don Piper was traveling over an old, narrow bridge positioned over a lake. An 18 wheeler driven by a Texas state prisoner crossed over the center line and ran over the entire passenger side of his Ford Escort. Don died instantly from the crash on January 18, 1989.

After being pronounced dead by four EMTs, his body laid under that tarp while personnel waited for a coroner to sign his death certificate. During this time, Don experienced Heaven. Another pastor came to the crash site and prayed for Don while his body laid under a tarp for the next 90 minutes. This other pastor starts singing What a Friend We Have in Jesus and Don miraculously started singing the hymn with him!

With the support and prayers of his beloved Eva, their three kids, and many friends, Don faith in God was tested while he fought through the pain to regain a resemblance of his previous life. He underwent 34 surgeries to treat all of the injuries his body had sustained plus two years of physical therapy.

The Piper family’s incredible true story of perseverance and overcoming the challenges of life – and death – will bring hope and encouragement to all who see it.

90 Minutes in Heaven is the movie based on Don Piper’s story. It is coming to theaters everywhere in a few days on September 11, 2015. It is rated PG-13 (for intense accident and injury images).

This movie features the talents of Hayden Christensen (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith), Kate Bosworth (Remember The Titans, Blue Crush) Michael W. Smith, Fred Thompson, Dwight Yoakam, and Jason Kennedy, 90 Minutes In Heaven is based on the inspiring New York Times best-selling book that has sold 7 million copies.
