I recently signed up for a new review opportunity through Rosie’s Review Crew.  I was allowed to review Oregon Soap Company’s Zesty Lemongrass and Lavender Oatmeal in 3.75 oz. bars.

The Oregon Soap Company is certified organic.  The company was started by a struggling musician who listened to the advice of a friend in 1993 on starting his own business.  Oregon Soap Company opened its doors in 1994 and has made over 500,000 bars of soap since then.

The company makes their soaps with renewable energy and the packaging for the bars is done on 100% post-consumer paper.  This business supports Friends of Trees financially and the staff participate in plantings.  In partnering with Friend of Trees, they have planted over 23,000 trees and other native plants since November 2007.

Oregon Soap Company Zesty Lemongrass bars has a scent to awaken the senses.  Lemongrass is noted as being a great tonic for the skin.

Ingredients: 100% Organic Saponified Palm, Coconut and Olive Oils, Essential Oils, Organic Oats, Organic Bran, and Organic Dried Lemongrass. Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth. This bar retails for $6.00.

Oregon Soap Company Lavender Oatmeal bars are great for dry skin and lavender can have a calming/relaxing affect.

Ingredients: 100% Organic Saponified Palm, Coconut and Olive Oils, Essential Oils, Organic Oats, and Organic Bran. Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth. This bar retails for $6.00.

These soaps lather well and last a long time.  They are made with small batch techniques and great ingredients so they are fresh.  Often times the “soaps” we buy in the store are actually just detergents.  They can be petroleum based and may contain alkali that leads to skin issues, like becoming itchy and dry.  Oregon Soap Company bars have wonderful scents and look beautiful too.  Make sure to keep homemade soap out of standing water or it will soften and not last as long.

My readers will receive a free bar of any Oregon Soap Company organic bar soap with a $15 minimum purchase on rosiemade.com. Coupon Code: SoapBlog Expires 7/31/13.

I have been given the opportunity to review RosieMade products, which are quality gifts and products that are made in the USA by women friendly companies.  Their goals are:  increase revenues for women’s businesses, increase women’s entrepreneurship, increase wages and jobs for Americans, especially women, and promote the accomplishments of women and support their advancement.  RosieMade is a woman-owned company that was inspired by Rosie the Riveter.  The company is based in Meridian, Idaho.  With RosieMade, you can shop by state or brand.   Support your favorite artist or producer at www.rosiemade.com/shop and there is free shipping on any order over $100 everyday.

Disclosure:  I received bars of soap through Rosie’s Blog Crew to facilitate this review.  No other compensation was received.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
