Here’s a cute game for little ones called Bible Dominoes. This game is recommended for children ages 3+ and 2-4 players can play.
The game includes 28 large and hefty dominoes plus a small Candle Bible Stories Book.
The Candle Bible Stories Book summarizes 10 stories from the Bible, like Noah and His Ark and Joseph and his Amazing Coat. The pages are thin, almost like those of a magazine, so it is not built to be left alone in the hands of young children. The imagery used is cute and colorful. The stories are retold by Juliet Davide and illustrations are done by Jo Parry.
To play the game, the dominoes are shuffled and placed face down in the middle of the players. The number of dominoes picked up by each player depends slightly on the total number of players. The players can view their own hand of dominoes. The rest of the dominoes go in a draw pile, face down. The object of the game is to use up all of your dominoes.
One thing a little different in the rules for this game versus other dominoes games I’ve played is that if you can not play, you take one from the draw pile and then it immediately goes to the next player. You don’t get a try in laying down a domino after drawing a new one.
Colors or numbers can be matched in this game. The dominoes are laid down so that matching ends touch. They may be laid in line or at right angles.
Bible Dominoes is fun game for young children. It can help them learn colors, counting, and reading numbers and some word recognition. This game has a suggested retail of $9.99 and is published by Candle Book, an imprint of Lion Hudson plc.
